Welcome to Kaleidoscope

Life is made up of many pieces - sometimes beautiful, sometimes painful, but with each turn, new patterns emerge.

Our lives are composed of countless parts: experiences, relationships, dreams, struggles, and hopes. As the seasons of life turn, sometimes these pieces create patterns of beauty and clarity. Other times, they feel confusing, painful, or difficult. In these moments, it can be hard to know how — or even if — you can turn things toward something brighter.

My purpose is helping you discover new patterns of healing, clarity, and strength. No matter where you are on your journey, you are not alone. Together, we will work to create space for healing, growth, and meaningful change.

In the seasons when you feel lost, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward, counseling offers the opportunity to gently turn the kaleidoscope of your life and begin to see new patterns of possibility, meaning, and hope.

Taking the first step can be hard — but you don’t have to do it alone.

My Approach to Therapy

Eclectic. Collaborative. Respectful. Tailored to You.

In counseling, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Every person who walks into my office carries their own unique story, strengths, challenges, and dreams. My role is not to fit you into a system — it's to meet you where you are and build a path forward together.

While my work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Client-Centered Therapy, I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including:

  • Strengths-Based Therapy

  • Mindfulness and grounding techniques

  • Solution-Focused strategies

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Prepare-Enrich Assessment (for couples and marriage counseling)

  • Anger Management

  • Spiritual and faith-based integration (when desired by the client)

About Me

I’m Michael Weiland, a Licensed Professional Counselor (GA License #LPC006916).

I’ve been privileged to serve individuals, couples, families, and communities for over 30 years in the fields of mental health, education, and training — with 17 years of direct counseling experience since 2008. My career has allowed me to work in diverse settings such as inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, mobile crisis response, emergency departments, schools, and the court system. These experiences have given me a rich understanding of the many pathways people travel when facing life’s challenges.

Beyond my clinical work, I’m also:

  • A lifelong learner who loves music and the arts

  • Someone who finds renewal in nature, whether camping on an adventure or simply sitting outside

  • An avid traveler, cook, and lover of meaningful shared moments with family and friends

  • A fan of the creative process - whether it be technology, programming, carpentry, painting, or dreaming

I believe these personal experiences, alongside my professional training, allow me to connect deeply with people from many walks of life and create a safe, welcoming space for clients of diverse backgrounds.
